Ginean Modulator Ringmod distorsion and modulation pedal - DOD Gonkulator clone (2020s) - 300 epochs

The Ginean Modulator Ringmod is a perfect clone of the classic DOD Gonkulator, produced in China. This pedal features industrial, cold, almost harsh ring modulation and distortion effects. It gives you precise control over both modulation and distortion intensities and levels, allowing aggressive, metallic tones ideal for experimental sonic explorations. Bonus points go to the embedded DOD Grunge-style distortion, which brings back memories of my very first guitar pedal, purchased 15 years ago, maybe more. Controls include Ring Mod Mix, Carrier Frequency, Distortion Gain, Output Level, and a Distortion/Modulation blend, delivering the full chaotic yet controlled sonic palette of the original Gonkulator. For the capture, I set all knobs around 8 and turned modulation off to keep the focus on raw distortion and the ring-mod tonal character. Direct capture through my tube preamp equipped with the NOS Brimar 12AU7 / ECC82 WA brings out the metallic sheen and harmonic richness of the pedal, adding warmth and punch to the otherwise cold, industrial character.
