Description

I had a personal experiment, using boost pedals to vary the tone of the Rhythm Channel of my Peavey 6505 1992 Original head. A single tone setting was used on the 6505: Pre-Gain - 6 Bass - 3 Mid - 5 Treble - 6 Post-Gain - 1.5 Resonance - 7 Presence - 7.5 Pedal abbreviations in filenames: -BBE - BBE Green Screamer -Dist - MXR Distortion+ -DODBS - DOD Boneshaker -HC - Crowther Audio Hotcake -OCDGH - Fulltone OCD Ge - HP Mode -OCDGL - Fulltone OCD Ge - LP Mode -OD808 - Maxon OD808 -Rat - ProCo RAT2 -SD1 - Boss SD-1 -TDLX - Wampler Tumnus Deluxe -TMB73 - Keeley Time Machine Boost - Vintage - 73 Mode -TMBM - Keeley Time Machine Boost - Modern -TMBMW - Keeley Time Machine Boost - Modern - Warp Mode Captures of the Pedal+Amp are intended for use with IRs. These captures are labeled 'DI'. These DI captures come in two versions: -Amp Output connected to Suhr Reactive Load, labeled SRL -Amp Output tapped by Suhr Reactive Load with Mesa Traditional 4x12 Cab to Thru Jack, labeled 4FB Full Rig captures are labeled 'FR'. No IRs needed. Mic positions are as follows: a - 0.50" (~1.3cm) from the cap center b - 1.00” (~2.5cm) from the cap center c - 1.25” (~3.2cm) from the cap center An example of the naming convention for a Full Rig File: FR 6505 1992 Rhy TDLX 4FB SM57b -Wampler Tumnus Deluxe as a boost - Mesa-Spec Vintage 30 speaker was mic’ed with SM57 on axis, 1.00” from the cap -Standard architecture The following files are unboosted: DI 6505 1992 Rhy 4FB xSTD.nam DI 6505 1992 Rhy 4FB.nam DI 6505 1992 Rhy SRL xSTD.nam DI 6505 1992 Rhy SRL.nam FR 6505 1992 Rhy 4FB SM57a xSTD.nam FR 6505 1992 Rhy 4FB SM57a.nam FR 6505 1992 Rhy 4FB SM57b xSTD.nam FR 6505 1992 Rhy 4FB SM57b.nam FR 6505 1992 Rhy 4FB SM57c xSTD.nam FR 6505 1992 Rhy 4FB SM57c.nam Signal Chain: Steinberg UR824 Line Out – United Studio Technology Replay Box at 11.5dBu - Peavey 6505 1992 Original - Suhr Reactive Load Thru - Mesa Traditional 4x12 Cabinet – Celestion V30 - Shure SM57 - CAPI VP28 - Steinberg UR824 Line In All captures trained at 1000 Epochs using the TTSV10 input file, from The Tone Scientist, that is floating around NAM-related groups and forum posts. https://shop.thetonescientist.com/ Both Standard and xSTD architectures are provided.
