Timmy Custom 2009

I emailed Paul Cochraine in 2009 about getting a Timmy pedal - that's how they were sold at the time. He indulged my request to house the electronics in a slightly larger case with the pedal and power connections on the back of the pedal. In the larger case he put the clipping switch above the knobs. He also added two extra eq tweaking switches: a mid switch and a bright switch. As far as I know this was a unique customization. This collection of captures features several different configurations of those switches. Clip: U = sym 2 (quad diodes) - more 'hair' M = sym 1 (stock dual diodes) - least 'hair' D = asym (2 + 1 diodes) - most 'hair' Mid: U = mid boost M - stock Timmy D - more mid boost Bright: U = cut 1 M = stock Timmy D = cut 2 Naming convention for these captures Knobs are in o'clock values: 09 = low gain 12 = mid gain 03 = high gain Volume is unity gain at 12 o'clock on this unit, so that is left there for all captures. Timmy-gain-trebleCut-BassCut-clip-mid-bright So Timmy-09-07-07-M-M-M is your base light OD setting. Use the NAM eq on all the 'M-M-M' models to trim treble and bass in increments. There are combos of 3 gain settings and the 3 clipping settings set up like that. There is another set with controls at 10-09-09. These represent a common setting that I would use to get just a little more apparent drive. This set cycles through all of the Mid and Bright switch combos. So: find a capture that is close to what you want and turn on the NAM player gain and eq to slightly tweak the input level for more gain and make minor adjustments to treble and bass.
