Description

IRs made from the speakers of my 1966 Fender Bassman 2x12 cabinet loaded with the original Jensen C12NA 8ohm speaker on the right, and a newer Jensen C12N 8ohm speaker on the left. Five different close mics were used to capture both the upper and lower speakers; R121, SM57, MD421, i5, and C414, mic'd in the following positions: -Cap=center of the cap -Cap Edge=edge of the cap where it meets the cone -Cone=midpoint of the cone halfway between cap and cone edge -Cone Edge=edge of the cone right next to the baffle One distant mic was also used; C414 mic'd at the center of the cabinet at distances of 12" and 24". Mics were powered by Vintech Audio 73 mic pre with a little EQ boost at 60Hz and 12kHz, and passed through HCL Varis Tube Vari-Mu compressor for color, into RME Fireface converters. Captured using 10 second sine wave sweep @24bit/48kHz March 2026 Nathaniel@DahmanMusic.com www.DahmanMusic.com
