Description

Will do a no cabs no ir amp only capture soon. Capture of my hybrid live rig. Is essentially a modern poor man's hybrid take on the legendary 5150/JVM800 combo voiced and compression dialed for a mix and live ready single coil metal sound for myself. This capture turned out very good. Im shocked doing this capture worked so well the way i had to make it. So good i deleted the 1st attempt and im already completely satisfied with my result. I almost like the capture more then the original layered mono amp mix. Im using this tone with 7.5k,8k,9.1k (neck/middle/bridge) single coils with Alnico 5 slugs in them. Id give a brand but i wound them myself. This capture caught the voicing really well, but is a bit gainier then the real rig, and a hair chewier, but when i roll input gain back about 4db its a near perfect 1:1 with my strat compared to recordings of my live rig. The 20 year old eminence designed crate glx speakers soften the sizzle of the bugera 6262. Just a touch of power tube grind. The hybrit brings me mashall bite and harmonic content without any power tube sag or even the slightest hesitation.. I use an aby. One out into the interface, with tse 808, lepou hybrit (still my favorite over a decade later. Its special for single coil high gain) and into an impulse of a greenback loaded orange 2x12 a friend made for me ages ago. When jamming or live this channel is usually output up to a peavey hks12 kerboard amp. Am actually playing some shows with some real PA's this fall though, im making the nam capture so i just have a single lead to send to FoH mixer from a floor multi-fx unit for convenience and so the house guys wont hate me (lol) other chain is aby into landtone compressor dialed in ever so slightly to soften initial pick attack for single coils, directly into the front of the bugera. I keep eq at noon. Gain at noon. Gain Noon. Volume noon. Cab is a cheap seismic audio 2x12, and ive loaded it with early 2000s, well broken in crate GLX speakers from the first 2x12 amp i ever had. I believe at the time crate was using rebranded eminence made speakers. I have other newer, less used speakers, but these with all their age are my favorites. They've been hit hard for about 20 years now without giving up the goat. They keep a tightness and punch to them while also softening the 5150 style sizzle from the bugera and the marshal style harmonic bite cuts through them very well. The bugera gives a tight upper mid punch the hybrit doesnt quite manage on its own, its low end is more open voiced and i have the hybrit high passed at 90hz. Theres no high pass on the bugera, but these crate speakers seem to roll off pretty naturally under 100hz anyway. sm57 on one speaeker, at2020 on the other about 3 feet back in a mostly dead room. time aligned in daw, rendered in mono and brought back in, then rendered in mono with the lepou amp sim. I used the DI from the lepou hybrit track as the dry upload for the model.
