Description

So yea, definitely throw fret outs, excessive string slide noise, pick scrapes, and bad chords and as much noisy crap as possible into your dry/wet capture files when recording them. Give the model a worst case scenario to learn from, and Mix it in with clean clear true playing, go back and forth. Use a guitar with a trem if you have one and wank on it, if you throw your guitar out of tune even better, and even if the tone is dialed for humbuckers use single coils if you have them, and get plenty of fret buzz in there too...Youll get captures as good as the sweeps, possibly even better. I genuinely cannot tell a difference between this and my original tone stem. its a step past uncanny. A more mix friendly version of my last k50 capture. A different mic position as well a little further away. Catches less of the underlying noise of the amplifier. Successful experiment in playing technique for a dry/wet capture too. at2020 in a mostly dead room, bout a foot from the cap with the amp at same volume, angled slightly away from the dust cap to the face of the cone. I adjusted gain a bit when rendering from daw to get a louder result. Last capture was a little too warm for my taste, and you could hear the underlying noise of the amplifier's clean tone loud and clear since im using a condenser. I had it about 5 inches looking where the cap meets the cone on the last one. And there was a touch of mic clipping even though my preamp wasnt. Ill leave last one up because its still a nice warm tone for bedroom jamming.
