Description

Settings: G - Gain B - Bass M - Middle T - Treble SPKSIM - Speaker Sim DYN - Microphone The Boss SY-1000 features a virtual preamp section modeled on the legendary Roland JC-120 (often called the "King of Clean"), rather than a "JC-20." When pairing the SY-1000 with a physical amplifier or dialing in its virtual modeling, the JC-120 profile serves as the ultimate blank canvas for the unit's synth engines. Why the "JC" Model Matters on the SY-1000 The SY-1000 utilizes Boss’s advanced AIRD (Augmented Impulse Response Dynamics) technology. Instead of treating an amplifier model like a static EQ snapshot, AIRD models the interactive component behavior of the original circuits. Selecting the JC-120 model inside the SY-1000 delivers specific functional advantages: Zero Coloration: Tube amp models naturally compress, sag, and break up when pushed. The JC-120 model stays dead flat, transparent, and ultra-clean. This ensures that complex synth tracking—especially multi-waveform pads or rapid step sequences—retains maximum clarity without turning muddy.
