Description

The modern day Fender Super Reverb Reissue is equipped with Jensen P10R Reissue speakers. For this pack, I’ve chosen to mic the upper right speaker to minimize the low end buildup. I made IRs of the speaker from the cap center to about 4.0” (~10.2cm) from the cap. I moved in 0.25” (0.635cm) increments. I omitted the harshest and muddiest sounding positions, but still wanted to provide a wide range of sounds. The P10R is also the stock speaker in the Fender Pro Junior IV LTD. I really like how the P10R sounds with that amp. The speaker is also found in the modern Tweed Bassman Reissues, so these IRs could be used for more modern Tweed-style sounds. The P10R has a mixed reputation, but I think I was able to dial in some decent sounds with my Super Reverb. I suggest checking out maestrodimusica’s IR pack of his Super Reverb with CTS Alnicos for a more vintage take on the Super Reverb. My starting point is with the SM57 2.5” away from the cap. I go for any of the other mics when I want a softer attack. 24Bit 48kHz - 500ms - MPT Format Naming Convention P10R UR 4x10 <Mic Model> <Distance from Center> <Distance Off Grill> <Off Axis Angle, if applicable> -BU87IC - Beesneez BU87I C Large Diaphragm Condensor -D1000E - AKG D1000E -LR100 - Monoprice LR100 Ribbon -M160 - Beyerdynamic M160 Ribbon -M201 - Beyerdynamic M201TG -MK012 - Oktava MK-012 Small Diaphragm Condensor -OR57 - Shure SM57 with Crimson Orange Handle -R80 - MXL R80 Ribbon -R2MII - Golden Age R2 MkII Ribbon -SM57 - Shure SM57 -ST170 - Sterling ST170 Ribbon Equipment Used: -Behringer A800 Power Amp -Stam SA73 Microphone Preamp -RME UCX II Audio Interface -Voxengo Deconvolver
