Rack Crunch 90s — CAA 3+ SE × VHT 2562

A wide-range ’90s rack crunch tone built around Channel 2 of a Custom Audio Amplifiers 3+ SE, paired with a VHT G-2562-S Black Beauty 6L6 power amp. Roll back your guitar’s volume for a natural, open clean tone, then turn it all the way up for a full, articulate crunch. The transition is smooth and responsive, making it easy to move between clean and crunch directly from the guitar. It has the broad frequency range and clarity associated with the 3+ SE—full lows, open highs, and enough midrange presence to keep chords defined without making the sound feel narrow or overly compressed. No boost or drive pedal was used. Captured through an Orange PPC212 with a Shure SM57 and Beyerdynamic M160, reamped via IK Multimedia TONEX Capture, and recorded through my studio outboard chain: Chandler Limited TG2 → Rupert Neve Designs 551 → Radial MIX 2:1 → WesAudio ng76.
