VTR Effects IGNIS Now Runs NAM A2 Natively, Powered by TONE3000
The VTR Effects IGNIS Amp Modeler is one of the first guitar pedals in the world to run Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) A2-Lite captures natively. Every existing IGNIS owner gets the upgrade free.
A few weeks after the Blackstar Beam Mini brought native NAM A2 to the amp world, A2 is now landing on the pedalboard.
The IGNIS Amp Modeler, built by VTR Effects, is one of the first guitar pedals in the world that can load Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) A2-Lite captures natively, with no conversion.
IGNIS also lets you browse TONE3000, the world's largest library of NAM captures and impulse responses, right inside the VTR Effects companion app for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Every existing owner gets A2 support through a free software update.
Who Is VTR Effects?
VTR Effects is a boutique guitar pedal builder based in Brazil. IGNIS is the flagship of their Platinum Series, the line VTR launched in October 2025 to go beyond traditional stompboxes into full amp modeling.
IGNIS is a constantly evolving platform, shaped by direct feedback from the players who use it and expanded through free firmware updates. That approach is what got VTR to NAM, and then to A2, faster than far larger companies.
IGNIS runs a 600 MHz DSP at 48 kHz / 24-bit, with an integrated IR Loader, a NAM Loader, full MIDI, USB-C, and true bypass. It works as a preamp, an amp simulator, or a direct recording interface.

What the TONE3000 Integration Means
Using VTRStudio, the VTR Effects companion app for Windows, Mac, and Linux, you can browse and load any A2-Lite Full Rig capture from TONE3000 directly onto your pedal, including gear like:
- Vintage Fender cleans captured from a real combo
- Boutique high-gain rigs that would cost five figures in real life
- Experimental signal chains that you just can't find anywhere else
The library grows every single day. Every time someone shares a new capture to TONE3000, it becomes instantly available on your IGNIS.
Why "Native NAM" Matters
Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) is widely considered the most accurate amp modeling technology available, delivering tone and dynamic response so authentic that it's virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.
Other products convert NAM files into proprietary formats that sound worse and lock you into their ecosystem. IGNIS runs NAM natively, preserving its incredible quality while letting you take your tones anywhere NAM is supported.

A Pedal Built Around NAM
IGNIS is not a NAM-only device. It is a hybrid modeler that runs several layers in parallel:
- NAM, including native A2-Lite captures
- Topology-based amp modeling, VTR's circuit-level amp models
- Stereo impulse responses, a full stereo IR engine for cab and mic simulation
The result is a pedal that handles NAM the way the community ships it today, and also pushes into stereo territory that mono NAM captures cannot reach on their own.
"Being one of the first builders to ship A2-Lite on a pedal means a lot to us. Participating in the A2 testing process gave us a front-row seat to how much better NAM is getting, and we are proud to put the new architecture directly into the hands of IGNIS owners on day one."
– Ítalo Frota Soares, Founder and CEO, VTR Effects
Open Source at its Core
Neural Amp Modeler and TONE3000 are open source, so developers can support, build, and contribute today. That's exactly why a small, independent builder like VTR Effects can ship a serious modeling pedal in the first place.

NAM A2 Makes It Possible
IGNIS is one of the first pedals to ship with NAM Architecture 2 (A2), specifically A2-Lite, the same A2 model run at a smaller size, designed for processing-constrained devices like multi-FX pedals and mini amps.
A2 is the ground-up redesign that makes this possible, built over a six-month partnership between TONE3000 and Steve Atkinson, the original creator of NAM. Here's what A2 brings to IGNIS:
You can read everything there is to know about the architecture in NAM A2: The Complete Guide, and how we got A2 running on tiny chips in our deep dive on running NAM on the Daisy Seed.
Powered by the TONE3000 API
Everything you've just read is made possible by the TONE3000 API, our developer platform that connects hardware and software products directly to the constantly expanding universe of tones captured and shared by a global community of musicians.
