I love my Les Pauls with P9o s and I absolutely love my Diezel Einstein. What I love most about Diezel amps is the feel the dynamics, the immediacy, and that explosive response under the picking hand. You dig in and the amp just explodes; back off and it cleans up. There’s so much happening just through pick attack and touch. And then there are those Diezel mids. I’m addicted to that chewy, juicy midrange, the smack of the attack, and especially that huge low mid thump and punch. Call it crunch, chug, whatever .. I just want the amp to hit me like a roaring V8… One of my favorite things is getting everything from Jazz clean to full high gain tallica crunch out of essentially the same sound, just by rolling back the guitar s volume knob. No channel switching required. Diezel amps are ridiculously good at this. They somehow manage to combine serious amounts of gain with incredible dynamics and touch sensitivity while staying remarkably quiet. Compared to some other boutique high-gain amps Ive played so Friedman the difference in noise can be pretty dramatic. But I still need to check out his new José amps, and I love what Dave Friedman is doing for us amp nerds. I also seriously need to check out Wizard amps… I’m a big fan of Reinhold Bogner’s amps as well his Helios, Goldfinger, Mike Soldano’s amps, SLO and Hot Rod, and the Mesa/Boogie Mark-series amps. When it comes to cabinets, I especially love Mesa cabs. To my ears, they have that big, warm Californian (Records) thing weight, depth woody.. Bogner cabs are another favorite. And the Little Mesa evm Thiele cabs just to thump me up.. Speaker-wise, I’ve only really played Celestion Vintage 30s, G12T-75s and old G12-65s with my Diezels. I once ran my Einstein through an old JCM800 cab loaded with G12-65s, had to scooped the Einstein for that amp cab combination and: instantly old-school Metallica…your Welcome. I definitely want to try some Creambacks next. As far as the more obvious mainstream guitarTone influences: the YoungBrothers, Tom Morello on the ratm Records, Tony Iommi/Hetfield Tone on Flemming Rassmussens and BobRocks Records and the Adam Jones Joe Barresi Combo.. And then, on a completely different end of the spectrum: Kenny Burrell.. Especially Midnight Blue.. I absolutely love the sound Rudy Van Gelder captured on those old Blue Note Records. Burrell combined with that unmistakable RVG warmth and his famously hot recording levels (way ahead of the loudness war 🐱), the Pultec thickness and Fairchild compression, and his beautiful old atmospheric Reverbs on it. Warm, atmospheric and compressed as hell… haha. amp/gear has to inspire you.. the sound is in your hands and your soul and no piece of GASshit can hide your personality I think.. So: Punk up your ass Make riffs not war Love music - hate fascism Greetz from Hamburg
