For my captures, aim to get about 10dB-12dB of input gain on your audio interface in order for the capture to sound similar to my setup. Usually, this amount of gain is about the same as the Hi-Z input on your audio interface with the gain knob turned all the way down. I use an UAD Apollo X4, so the minimum gain on my interface is 10dB for the Hi-Z input, and I leave the input gain on the NAM plugin at 0dB but I usually play around with the input gain at the +-3dB to dial in the sound. Some captures with lower gain can have low volumes so just adjust the output gain accordingly.
