Description

There are several versions of Line 6's Big Bottom amp: The OG off the original POD line; the Vetta version that Meshuggah used in the 2000s; the Badonk off the Helix and their standalone metal plugin suite; but this is arguably the more obscure version, the Pod HD version that was only available as an extra purchase, which is no longer available. Since the POD HD cannot typically be connected to newer hardware (it lacks USB 3.0 support and is buggy even on USB 2.0), one must install the model packs using a windows virtual machine set to emulate USB1.0 only. This is an annoying process to install a model pack in 2026, making this the more rare of the Big Bottom variants. I present it to you in the form most people, including Meshuggah as far as I am aware, used it: Mids cranked, Treble at 0. The unique gain and EQ structure make up for the strange setting. This amp model was typically played with a low frequency cut going in; use accordingly and supplement your own cut or boost pedal to make up for it.). Bass at 2 o'clock. I think the Pod HD cabs are fine, they have a terrible reputation, but the IMO best options are included. They're not bad, EQ to taste. I made a custom cab from the exact original P1 cab (Axe-FX 4x12) blended with my own IRs from Misha X, specifically cab 3. This serves as a very nice IR for an outstanding djent tone. Sounds GREAT with single coils. This version of the pack contains fully playable rigs with baked in cab IRs. See the DI version of this pack for the raw Amp head. CUSTOM CHAIN (All settings reference clock position): Pod HD Tube Comp model, set subtly Joyo Argos OD (Precision Drive Clone) --set at Gain7.Level11.Attack3.Tone2 Line 6 Pod HD500, Big Bottom model --Mids cranked, Treble off. Gain / Bass 2 o'clock, Pres 10, Vol 12 Selection of cabs from POD HD --Blackback 30, 57 On Axis (default for this amp) --Blackback 30, U67 --Greenback 25, U67 (Vetta version of this cab was likely used by Meshuggah on Catch 33) Also Includes a custom IR from original P1 IR + Misha X Cab 3 Have fun djenting. I could be persuaded to do a series of captures based on the Pod HD500, please let me know in the comments if there is any interest.
