Description

The 1057 was built around germanium transistors and transformer-coupled Class-A circuitry, giving it a sound that's unmistakably warm, round, and full of dimension. Unlike the later silicon-based 1073, the germanium topology delivers a smoother, more organic saturation with superior transient response — especially on drums, where it's widely considered untouchable. These modules originally appeared in Neve's first 80 Series consoles and went on to shape some of the biggest rock records of the '90s and 2000s. With original units selling for six figures and almost never available, this AI capture puts that rare germanium Neve character in your DAW: rich harmonic color, a wide and punchy low end, sweet highs, and that classic British transformer vibe. Ideal for drums, guitars, vocals, and full-bus tone shaping. This is Neve Class-A with a little more FU.
