This boost / slight overdrive removes the mudiness / overwhelming bass of the Mesa Rectifier by placing it in front of the amp. The goal was to avoid overly altering the amp's tone. Therefore, the bass cut / mid hump isn't as drastic as with other pedals (no djent style boost), but it's still effective...
