Darkglass Anagram: The First Bass Multi-Fx to Natively Support NAM A2-Full

The most accurate amp modeling technology in the world is now available on the Anagram pedal from Darkglass, powered by TONE3000.

Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Finnish bass manufacturer Darkglass to bring the world's most accurate amp modeling technology to Anagram: Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) Architecture 2 (A2).

NAM A2 can run in two sizes; A2-Lite, designed to run on nearly any hardware, and A2-Full, designed for the highest level of accuracy and sound quality. Anagram can run both. No bass multi-fx pedal has been capable of this until today. Plus, Anagram can run three instances of A2-Full models simultaneously.

Darkglass was the first major manufacturer to support NAM, helping bring open source amp modeling out of the DAW and onto real pedalboards. Now, they taking the next step before anyone else.

What Is NAM A2?

A2 is the next generation of the open source Neural Amp Modeler, developed by TONE3000 in partnership with NAM creator Steve Atkinson.

A2-Full is our maximum-accuracy model, built for pro-audio. In our testing, A2-Full beats Neural DSP Quad Cortex, IK Multimedia ToneX, and Line 6 Proxy by a wide margin in both quantitative tests and a 1,000-person blind listening test. Learn more in our guide: How does A2 sound?

A2-Lite is designed for embedded hardware, making it possible to bring world-class amp modeling to pedals, amps, and multi-effects devices with tighter processing constraints.

On Anagram, you can now play through both A2-Full and A2-Lite captures that feel dynamic, responsive, and virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.

Why Native NAM Matters

Some products claim to support Neural Amp Modeler, but actually convert NAM files into proprietary formats. This conversion degrades sound quality and locks your tones inside one ecosystem.

Anagram doesn't do that. Instead, it supports Neural Amp Modeler natively, with no conversion. That means your captures sound amazing and work with any NAM-compatible device.

What Is Darkglass Anagram?

Anagram is Darkglass’s flagship multi-effects processor and pedalboard platform, designed for players who need flexibility, speed, and precision on stage and in the studio.

It is powered by a hexacore processor with 32-bit/48kHz audio processing, and it is built to handle complex effect chains, amp modeling, neural models, cabinet impulse responses, third-party plugins, and low-latency live performance.

The device features a 7" high-brightness touchscreen, six endless rotary knobs, and three footswitches for a fast, hands-on workflow. It also includes studio and stage-grade connectivity, including stereo and XLR outputs, USB audio, MIDI, Bluetooth, send/return, and expression input.

Anagram can run signal chains in series with up to 12 blocks, or in parallel with up to 24 blocks, giving you a flexible way to build everything from simple bass tones to complex multi-path rigs.

What's Next

Our mission is to make tone universally accessible. On Anagram, these tones will sound better than ever before.

Native support for A2 is a major step for Anagram, and it's only the beginning. Darkglass and TONE3000 are working together on much more... stay tuned.
