ALABS Cetus

A set of impulse responses captured from the ALabs Cetus reverb pedal. All nine modes were recorded in stereo at 48 kHz and 24‑bit resolution, with Decay and Bright set to maximum, Modulation turned off, and PreDelay fixed at 0 ms. This approach yields the longest and cleanest reverb tails without built‑in time offsets or modulation, giving you full control over the final sound when processing in convolution reverbs such as HOFA IQ‑Reverb. The captures were made strictly without modulation, because any non‑linear effects (chorus, tremolo, flanger) cannot be properly reproduced in a linear impulse response – they would introduce artifacts and instability during convolution (except 6-9, since I didn't want to edit already installed patches :) ). The pack includes all nine Cetus algorithms: Hall – a simulation of a large concert hall with deep and spacious reflections; Room – a dense, chamber‑like sound of a small space; Church – a massive, cavernous reverb with a long and majestic tail; Spring – a classic vintage spring reverb popular in guitar amplifiers; Plate – a smooth and bright metallic reverb in the style of studio plate devices; Swell – a mode with a smooth swelling attack that creates an orchestral breath effect; Shimmer – adds octave harmonics to the reverb for high shimmering tails; Cloud – an airy, vast, and soft ambient effect; and Wave – an experimental algorithm with dynamic harmonics and modulation, featuring a synth‑like character. These impulse responses are perfect for ambient textures, sound design, and deep spatial effects in any DAW. I recommend setting shorter reverb length and size values (e.g., around 50–70 % of the maximum) in your convolution reverb plugin to avoid excessive boominess and mix clutter, and applying low‑pass and high‑pass filters (LPF and HPF) to taste for a more natural or purposefully colored sound.
