Description
[this is the Feather versions of the DS-1 captures, for lower CPU usage. Check my profile for Standard (more accurate, higher CPU) & Lite (between Standard & Feather)] Here's lots of captures I made of a Boss DS-1, that I modified with the Wampler "Classic JCM-type Marshall Tones" specs. If you want to know more about this mod, you can read this : https://www.premierguitar.com/diy/pedal-projects/boss-ds-1-mods Pedal is Made in Taiwan, from 1993 according to the serial number. This is my first time capturing real hardware gear and sharing it, I'm really happy with the results, I basically can't hear any difference between the real pedal and the NAM files. My favorite profiles would be anything from Dist@4 to 8, Tone@4 or 6, going to a Clean Hiwatt DR NAM capture. I made the captures at 4 different Tone settings (2 - 4 - 6 - 8), and 11 different Gain/Dist settings (from 0 to 10, 0 is minimum, 10 is max, 5 is noon). Level was the same for all captures, around 7/10. Recording chain : V3 Sweep training file played from a looper pedal, going to a Boss DD-3 for splitting the signal (it has 2 outputs), 1st output to audio interface, 2nd output to the DS-1 and to the interface. I recorded both the dry and wet training files and used Dry/Wet Tone3000 capture, to be sure that everything was time aligned. Interface is Universal Audio Volt 4. Calibration metadatas provided in the files. (12.5 dBu)
