Description

I ran my Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Multi-Watt head through my EVH 5150III 4x12 cabinet. I mic'ed a 16 ohm Celestion G12-EVH speaker with a Shure SM57. The Red Channel's Modern Mode was used, with the amp set on the typical Bold and Silicon Diode rectifier setting. This is not a particularly tight combination of amp and speakers. Full Rig captures are labeled 'FR'. No IRs needed. Mic positions are as follows: a - 1.00" (~2.5cm) from the cap center b - 1.25" (~3.2cm) from the cap center c - 1.50" (~3.8cm) from the cap center d - 1.75" (~4.5cm) from the cap center I chose the same 3 amp settings as my other Rectifier Red Modern Full Rig pack using a V30/Creamback M65. Tone settings are in the following order: (G)ain - (Ma)ster (P)resence (T)reble (M)iddle (B)ass I approximated knob settings from 0-10. A few Amp Head Captures are also included for use with your favorite IRs. These captures are labeled 'DI'. These DI captures come in two versions: -Amp Output connected to Suhr Reactive Load, labeled SRL -Amp Output tapped by Suhr Reactive Load with 5150III Cab to Thru Jack, labeled EVH An example of the naming convention for a Full Rig File: FR MBDR MW Red Mdn G-7 Ma-2 P-2 T-5 M-4 B-2 G12-EVH SM57a CL7603 xSTD -Amp settings of G-7 Ma-2 P-2 T-5 M-4 B-2 - G12-EVH speaker was mic’ed with SM57 on axis, 1” from the cap -Chameleon Labs 7603 Mic Preamp used -xSTD architecture Signal Chain: Steinberg UR824 Line Out - DIYRE Line2Amp/United Studio Technology Replay Box at 11.5dBu - Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Multi-Watt - Suhr Reactive Load Thru - EVH 5150III 4x12 Cabinet – Celestion G12-EVH - Shure SM57 - Chameleon Labs 7603/CAPI VP28 - Steinberg UR824 Line In The Suhr Reactive Load's unbalanced output was connected to my interface's instrument input. I took DI captures at the same time as I recorded through the cabinet. The use of the Suhr's Thru output bypassed its internal load to use the cabinet's load. All captures trained at 1000 Epochs using the TTSV10 input file, from The Tone Scientist, that is floating around. https://shop.thetonescientist.com/ Both Standard and xSTD architectures are provided. The Standard files should load in NAM hardware loaders. Input calibration metadata for 11.5dBu was filled in during TONE3000 training. I also made impulse responses of the EVH 5150III 4x12. I mic’ed the Lower Left speaker if anyone feels like comparing a Full Rig to a DI + IR combo. https://www.tone3000.com/tones/celestion-g12-evh-evh-5150iii-4x12--40738 Older Mesa Dual Rectifier Multi-Watt Full Rig Pack with Celestion Vintage 30/Creamback M65 in another 4x12 https://www.tone3000.com/tones/full-rig-mesa-boogie-dual-rectifier-multi-watt-red-modern-115dbu-ttsv10-39074
