Description

There was only one other Green Ringer Octave-based based pedal on TONE3000, so I thought I’d offer my calibrated version of a General Guitar Gadgets Green Ringer build. The EQD Tentacle capture offered by creator niceandfuzzy is found is here: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/eqd-tentacle-analog-octave-up-low-esr-19089 The most effective use of the Green Ringer is to play past the 12th fret, using the neck pickup, to achieve the most obvious octaved overtones. Chords become a brassy mess, which you might want. Double stops might be okay, depending on context. I also made captures to demonstrate how the Green Ringer can transform fuzzes into Octavia-like pedals: EHX IC Muff, DOD Carcosa, Buzzaround clone, Fuzzrite clone, Way Huge Havalina, Behringer SF300, Maxon Fuzz Elements Fire, JRR GeSi Face. Some Green Ringer users like boosting into the pedal with an overdrive or fuzz. I prefer using the Green Ringer first in line. RME UCX II Line Out - United Studio Technologies Replay Box at 11.5dBu Green Ringer Pedal Chain - RME UCX II In at 11.7dBu Calibration metadata was entered for all captures. I recommend setting the NAM Output mode to Raw or Calibrated if you use the auto input calibration feature. The captures were made with the TTSV10 input file, an experimental training file shared to the NAM community from The Tone Scientist (https://shop.thetonescientist.com/) The pedal was trained with the Standard Architecture at 1000 Epochs. The ESR of the Green Ringer standalone was low. ESR was horrible when I combined the Green Ringer with fuzzes. You can always stack multiple instances of NAM or run the Green Ringer capture into a distorted amp capture.
