Description

Cheap as chips, serious bang for your buck, this is the humble American Sound amp-in-a-box pedal. In case you didn't know already, it's meant to emulate a number of Fender-ish amp sounds. And it does it pretty well, it has to be said. It does come with a built-in cab sim that, while not terrible, is not exactly wonderful, either. But when I use this to record direct, I often (though not always) use an IR after it in my DAW. Because the range of sounds is relatively broad, a little turn of one of the six dials can go a long way to altering the nature of the tone. That's why I included so many snapshots. In all these examples, the Low, Mid and High knobs are set at noon. (This was just to keep me somewhat anchored and not wildly chasing my tail while making these profiles. That said, the EQ knobs are very powerful.) The Voice and Drive knobs are used in a variety of positions relative to each other. Enjoy!
