Description

Marshall JCM 800 2203 modified in-house with a Cameron/SLO-style hot-rod mod: extra cascaded gain stage on the first triode, full recap, fresh preamp tubes and reduced negative feedback for more sustain and attack. Captured through a Marshall 4x12 loaded with Celestion V30s, miked with an SM57 + R121 blend. Tight, focused gain with controlled low end, aggressive mids that never go nasal, and present highs without fizz. Great for modern rhythm work in Drop C/D, hard rock and old-school metalcore. A boost in front is recommended. Tested with EverTune-equipped guitars — responds beautifully to warm humbuckers like a Les Paul and to high-output pickups.
