Amp Head Capture

NAM

Description

This is a direct capture of the amp output through a modded Two Notes Torpedo Captor 8 (lower noise floor, untamed frequency response in lows and highs and more flattened mids). HOW I MAKE IT SOUND GOOD: - guitar with a pickup equivalent to low/mid output humbucker (should sound fenomenal with singles) - if you use a DI guitar, -5db was optimal with NAM controls all at 0 without EQ, no calibration etc. - don't just slam overdrives in it - make sure you are hitting the model at about -5 and then have fun - this amp loves lots of clean gain and if it's getting to muffy, then simply lowpass your input - a good point to start is 51Hz - this amp is super full range so treat it like a hifi device - real amp does not like a TS at low gain settings but the capture seems to take all kind of dirt with love (but it's still picky, I recommend EQD Plumes mode 2, SD1 - generally no hard clippers) Chain: Sweep signal from Reaper Output from Roland Studio Capture at line level HX Stomp input as line at 1M HX Stomp output as instrument level Matamp GT1 Hi input Matamp GT1 8ohm output Torpedo Captor 8 amp input Torpedo Captor 8 LINE Studio Capture line preamp at +4db Peak of the sweep recorded: Max Gain -8.2db Half Gain -9.7db Amp is in Master Volume mode at moderate saturation level and on Voice 4.
