Amp + Cab Capture

Description

This is a replicated signal chain of Kurt Cobain's guitar rig at the Paramount show from October 31, 1991. This is a Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp going into a Celestion G12T-75 loaded cabinet mic'ed with an SM57. Sounds great with any guitar with a DiMarzio Super Distortion bridge pickup and a Boss DS2. Add some slight reverb at the end of the chain for even more accuracy to the original recording.

awesome job!!! thank you so much for this! i'm a big fan of Kurt's tones from the Nevermind era (the Sound City studio tones and the live 1991 tones), and this sounds great! i don't have any amp and this is the only way I can get as close as possible to Kurt's tones without using the other Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp NAM captures (which have different EQ settings baked in). i don't wanna be annoying or disturb you by requesting many things but: 1) could you please upload an Amp Head Only capture so it can be paired with an external IR? 2) also, could you please share the calibration details and the EQ settings you used for this capture? 3) and last thing: are you planning on doing any more Kurt tones? Another tone that is absolutely gorgeous is the Del Mar 12/28/1991 tone, it's like the absolute best killer tone ever hehe Thank you again for doing the lord's work!!
