Description
Panama Shaman's are another 20-ish take on the 4 voice Fender, AC-30, JCM 800 and Soldano head with EL 84 output and 4 12AX7s. The output of the amp for capture went from speaker out to CH3 of a Behringer G100 phantom power DI to a decade old Steinberg UR44 audio interface also supplying phantom power through XLR. The output of the the UR44 is sent through line out CH 1, with a 1/2 mono to XLR cable going into a fifteen dollar (today) PYLE PDC21 passive DI XLR *out* with maximum 40 db pad. The 4 ohm load for the head is a Panama 2x12 stereo cabinet in parallel, with both built in LPads turned to zero for silent output. This is not part of the output chain to the computer. Yes I am running a passive DI backwards. Because it works. The 1/4 inch input of the Pyle PDC21 then goes to the input of the Panama Shaman. The DAW I'm using is Reaper. I have also used this setup to use NAM amps on the computer as an overdrive for this amp. There are no effects or overdrives. All settings are 12 o'clock except gain and volume.
