Rattler Bass Distortion

JAM Pedals Rattler — RAT-style distortion, captured across its higher-gain distortion range. Signal chain: JAM Pedals Rattler → MOTU M4 (instrument input, unity gain staging, no pad) → Logic Pro. Training and validation files recorded at 48 kHz / 24-bit, no processing on the input path, no plugins on the record track. Captured settings: Distortion/Gain swept from 12 to 16 o'clock — the pedal's core distortion territory, from thick midrange grind up to full saturation. Volume was pulled back progressively as gain went up, so output level stays roughly consistent across the set and the models can be swapped without jumps in loudness. Filter left neutral (12–15 o'clock) to keep the captures tonally flat and EQ-friendly downstream. Clean blend: ~25–30% dry signal mixed in, preserving low-end weight and pick attack that a fully wet RAT circuit compresses away. This is baked into the capture, so the models sound tighter and more defined than the pedal alone at the same knob positions. Notes: Pedal-only captures — no amp, no cab, no IR. Run them into your own amp model and cab/IR. Input level matters: the captures were trained at a fixed input level, so drive your NAM plugin near 0 dB input for the modeled gain structure to track correctly. Backing the input off cleans things up much like rolling back the guitar volume on the real pedal.
