Description

JAM Pedals Rattler — RAT-style distortion, captured across its saturation and crunch range. Signal chain: JAM Pedals Rattler → MOTU M4 (instrument input, unity gain staging, no pad) → Logic Pro. Training and validation files recorded at 48 kHz / 24-bit, no processing on the input path, no plugins on the record track. Captured settings: Distortion/Gain swept from 8 to 12 o'clock, covering the low-gain saturation range through early crunch. Filter left in a neutral position (12–15 o'clock) so the captures stay tonally flat and respond well to EQ downstream. Volume set to match unity output. Clean blend: ~25% dry signal mixed in, preserving low-end body and pick attack that a fully wet RAT circuit tends to compress away. This is baked into the capture, so the models are drier-sounding and tighter than the pedal alone at the same knob settings. Notes: These are pedal-only captures — no amp, no cab, no IR. Run them into your own amp model and cab/IR. Input level matters: the captures were trained at a fixed input level, so drive your NAM plugin near 0 dB input for the modeled gain structure to track correctly. Lower input levels will clean up much like the real pedal.
