Description

Tech 21's rackmount SansAmp, released in 1993. All-analog signal path with digital control — the programming and memory are digital, everything the signal touches isn't. Eight continuously variable controls, including four Character knobs (Buzz, Punch, Crunch, Drive) that shape gain and harmonic content in specific frequency bands rather than acting as a conventional EQ. 49 factory presets covering Marshall, Fender, Mesa/Boogie, and bass amp voicings, plus 49 user slots and MIDI program change. The SansAmp line started as Andrew Barta's pedal in 1989 and became the standard for direct recording without an amp. The PSA-1 is the rack version of that idea with full programmability. Captures are of the stock factory presets, straight off the XLR output, no cab.
