THIS HEAVY EARTH FLESHROT V2 PREAMP + MARSHALL JCM 2000 POWER AMP

Some captures of my This Heavy Earth Fleshrot v2 preamp pedal, running into the power section of my Marshall JCM 2000 (so it’s functioning as an amp head). The pedal is based on the Ampeg VH140C, a staple in 90s death metal (think early Suffocation and Dying Fetus), but with more controls added to give more tonal flexibility. The Mid Shift knob is particularly powerful and unlocks a lot of possibilities. I’ve included a mix of more old-school scooped death metal tones and some more mid-forward captures, but all are suitably disgusting and brutal. Included two that are dialled in for a sludgier sound, using a Metal Zone as a boost. These are for my own use, but hopefully someone else gets some enjoyment out of them as well. Some settings are captured with the Fleshrot on its own, others are boosted with a Boss SD-1, not adding much level but tightening and giving its usual snarl-y high mid boost. The Metal Zone on the sludge tones is set to Kirk Windstein settings - EQs flat, level cranked, distortion at 0.
