Description

Rusty Box - My main settings are: Treble: 12:00 | Bass: 1:30 | Mid: 2:30 | IG: 10:30, with the Lo/Hi gain switch being flipped for slight variation. I'm not using the boost footswitch unless noted in the name of the capture. The 'Hi Gain 1 - Boosted' capture (added 2025.12.20) is using the boost on, switch in Hi Gain position, and I have input gain around 2:00. Regarding any high gain captures (I'll continue to add more in the next month or two), it's worth noting that the ESR is a bit higher on these (~.015). I played around with a noise gate and some other techniques to bring it down a bit more, but the noise floor on the heavily boosted Rusty Box is naturally high due to the copious amounts of upper-mids and highs that make it what it is. Needless to say, you'll hear some air/hiss when you turn this on, but it's exactly what you get from the real pedal when you A/B them. Finally, this is not an unadulterated Rusty Box capture. I run it with a Damnation Loop Blender to bring back some pretty beefy lows. If you're looking for the classic 'tight' bottom end of the solo-rusty box, this is not it. The low-gain variations are my always-on tone for the most part...mostly-on? It's my favorite for sure.
