Description

This capture set is based on the VOX AC30 CH "custom head" version. It's the classic "Pseudo-Class-A" amplifier with a normal and top boost channel. This head version features an fx loop, a master volume and an attenuator. For this pack, I've turned the fx loop off, set the master volume to maximum and disabled the attenuator completely by choosing the "30W" mode. The integrated Tremolo and Reverb effects were also turned completely off. Only the higher gain inputs were used for both the normal and top boost channel. The normal channel has only the volume control, while the top boost channel has a volume, treble and bass control. There's also the famous "Hi Cut" control that is typical for VOX desgins, the newer models use the "Tone Cut" description instead, but the functionality is the same. The first one or two letters of each capture name, after AC30, are channel labels for the normal ("N") and top boost ("TB") channels. The volume setting ("V") follows afterwards along with tone cut ("TC"). If it's the top boost channel, then there's bass ("B") and treble ("T") control settings as well. Finally, the capture names end with a rough verbal description of the tone. Since I'm in possession of a really good Dallas Rangemaster Germanium Treble Booster clone, I made some captures with it in front of the normal channel as well, for the Rory Gallagher and Brian May tones. There are three types of captures in this set: - Standard denoted with an "S" suffix - xStandard denoted with an "XS" suffix (more accurate, similar CPU hit as Standard) - Complex denoted with a "C" suffix (highest accuracy, highest CPU hit) If your computer can handle it, go for the complex captures, otherwise xSTD is a reasonable alternative to the standard architecture. Very high quality 1400 epochs complex captures with very low ESR numbers. Made with the TTS input V10 Test Signal and the hyper accuracy training architecture, which guarantees very low aliasing. Standard and xStandard captures were trained on tonezone3000.com with 1000 epochs.
