AlinaPro CA-40

Here’s a simple setup: an AlinaPro CA-40 combo amp, which feels like it was forged somewhere in the depths of hell, and an Ibanez Gio GRG121DX, my trusty sidekick through life. The amp and guitar are connected with a 20-foot cable, just a regular instrument cable doing what it’s built to do. The mic that captured all this for you is a Fifine A8. Unconventional, sure, but hey, it is what it is. I don’t have a clip of this amp to show you. In the band I used to record with (the one that actually made it onto decent-quality video), I wasn’t the guitarist, so I never got to show off what this amp can do. But it’s been with me forever, so if you ever came over to my place, you’d hear that legendary tone firsthand. Or at rehearsals, where it put in an honest day’s work. With this amp, you can get that proper fuzzy, early Black Sabbath tone. When I first plugged it in, that’s honestly what I thought it sounded like. Or maybe Grand Funk Railroad. I don’t know, you be the judge. Honestly, it sounds pretty killer to me, especially for a budget amp.
