Description

This IR pack captures the classic tones of Ampeg bass cabinets, providing a wide range of options for bassists, producers, and engineers. It includes both 8×10 and SVT cabinet simulations, recorded with multiple speaker models, mic placements, and direct outputs to give you flexible tonal possibilities. These IRs are designed to work with amp simulators, re-amping setups, or direct recording chains. The Ampeg 8×10 cabinets feature four speaker models: 57, 4033, D6, and e602. Each speaker has two versions labeled A107 and AH, which likely correspond to different mic placements or tonal captures. A107 captures a more on-axis, direct tone, while AH provides an alternative perspective that is more open and ambient, giving you options for both focused and spacious bass sounds. The Ampeg SVT cabinets are captured with a variety of microphones, including Beta52, Bright Beta52, Bright Neumann, and SM57 off-axis. The different mics offer unique tonal characteristics, from warm and punchy to bright and detailed. There are also direct output IRs, including a standard DI and a “hot” DI version with boosted EQ or level, letting you use the cabinet tone or a pure DI signal as needed. Overall, this IR pack delivers a complete set of Ampeg cabinet simulations, allowing you to mix and match speaker types, mic placements, and DI options to find the perfect bass tone. Whether you need the growl of an 8×10, the punch of an SVT cab, or a clean DI signal for processing, this pack gives you professional-quality, flexible tones for any project. Non-commercial IRs found on an old hard drive, I had a lot of fun with them whiile dabbling with my very first modeler on a beautiful summer day (Sonicake Matribox Mk1).
