Description

Please Comment thoughts (Like, sucks, suggest, all good :-))...This is my first public NAM capture of my Bad Cat Ocelot 2025. The capture was created as an amp-only profile with no cabinet simulation baked in, making it ideal for pairing with your IRs and speaker chains. I just purchased the amplifier and after trying to get a decent metal tone listing to the cabinet I stopped here with these settings. Photo a picture of the front settings. Capture Details Amplifier: Bad Cat Ocelot Capture Type: Amp Only / No Cab Format: NAM (Neural Amp Modeler) Capture Method: Reamp process Interface: PreSonus HD8 Software: Fender Studio Pro Reamp Feature Cabinet Simulation: Disabled / Bypassed Includes: 1 NAM file Amp Settings Channel: CH2 Hi Gain: ~6 CH2 Volume: ~4 Bass: ~5 Mid: ~5 Treble: ~5 Presence: ~5 Master Volume: ~4 Notes This is my first attempt at NAM capture, planning to review.

Nice labour of love, like you actually give a shit about what you're doing. How it should be done. The capture itself sounds good, too. Do more.

Please keep it coming. Gain at 6 is a very good start. You may push the treble and presence too. Bat Cat amps usually sound dark at 5. I have a few.

Thank you so much. I was really curious about the metal sound of this amp. Would love to hear some more with different settings.

I'd add calibration data. Sounds great, else!

Got this amp used/open box recently and I actually don't care for high mode on gain channel. To my ears it adds some harsh upper mid or highs to the gain structure. Makes me think early Mastodon or something. I do like the gain channel on low with gain pretty much maxed out with a basic tube screamer type pedal. Or maybe because mine was used it doesn't actually sound like a proper new one? Who knows lol.

Ok, I'll follow you, do not dissapoint me! hahahahahahahaaa.... Thx a lot for your effort, will be great to testify this growing. As first attempt is a very good one! Although people really love calibrated profiles, & that will make you a pop ToneHunter, I usually end simply usin' my ears & the feel under my finger's skin, but calibrated condition is nice for a first launch, some people finds it as an absolute thing. Di captures as this are far more useful thar Full Rigs, but some of your mates achieves great FR snapshots. Through the Di ones, speaker iRs or NAM speakers captures can give almost endless chances to achieve impressive variations, includin stereo & even binaural chains builds loadin' multiple tracks through a NAM-GPU Audio plugin compilation.
