Description

IRs made from my Bogner 2x12 oversize closed-back cabinet made of multi-ply birch. It is loaded with two 8ohm Electro-Voice EVM12L Black Label Zakk Wylde speakers wired in parallel. Five different close mics were used to capture all two speakers (numbered 1 and 2); R121, SM57, MD421, i5, and SM7B, mic'd in the following positions: -Cap=center of the cap -Cap Edge=edge of the cap where it meets the cone -Cone=midpoint of the cone halfway between cap and cone edge -Cone Edge=edge of the cone right next to the baffle Each speaker was also captured using two SM57s in Fredman configuration. Two positions were captured, one with the on-axis mic aimed at the cap, the other with the on-axis mic aimed at the cap edge. An example pairing would be: "Fredman 1 On-Axis - Cap," and "Fredman 1 Off-Axis - Cap." Speaker Numbers: 1-left 2-right Two distant mics were also used; C414, and M160, both mic'd at the center of the cabinet at distances of 12" and 24" Mics were powered by Universal Audio 2-610 mic pres, passed through HCL Varis Tube Vari-Mu compressor for color, and into RME Fireface converters. Captured using 10 second sine wave sweep @24bit/48kHz February 2024 Nathaniel@DahmanMusic.com www.DahmanMusic.com
