Bogner Ecstasy 101B Blue + Browne Protein OD

A smooth, singing lead, voiced after the expressive studio lead tones of the 2000s. Built on the Blue channel of a Bogner Ecstasy 101B with a Protein OD out front, it gives you a smooth midrange, musical sustain, and a natural response to your guitar's volume — roll it back and it opens up, dig in and it sings. Made for expressive lead lines, and just as inspiring for dynamic rhythm work. The Fat version adds a little more low end while keeping the same overall character and feel. There's a little something in the way these were captured — my own small secret — that helps them sit and sing in a busy mix. Mic'd with an SM57 + Beyerdynamic M160 ribbon, reamped through IK Multimedia TONEX Capture, and recorded through my studio outboard chain: Chandler TG2 → Rupert Neve Designs 551 → Radial MIX 2:1 → WesAudio ng76.
