Description

The Douk Audio T8, also sold under the Nobsound label, is a compact tube based equalizer and preamp designed for consumer audio setups. It uses a dual tube architecture with five bands of EQ, each providing gentle tonal shaping suited for hi fi listening or subtle coloration in a studio workflow. The T8 is simple to integrate in any chain, offers RCA connectivity, and responds clearly to tube rolling, making it a popular entry point for users who want classic tube warmth without a complex setup. For this capture I replaced the stock tubes with a matched pair of Voskhod 6N3P E NOS valves from the 1980s, both sharing the same date codes. The EQ is set with a plus 2 boost on all five bands and the volume control is turned up to 10 to give the preamp a clear and consistent output level. This profile reflects the characteristic warmth and mid density these Voskhod tubes are known for, along with the musical peak shaping provided by the T8’s gentle EQ curves. Everything was captured using the Matribox II as the DI, which ensures a clean and reliable foundation for all my recent NAM files.
