Description

Resonance: 1 Presence: 6 Signal chain: DAW -> Scarlett 8i6 Gen 1 -> Radial Reamp HP -> Amp -> Two Notes Torpedo Captor 16ohm -> Scarlett 8i6 -> DAW Tones shaped on the amp using a PRS CE24 on the bridge pickup and using an Orange 212OB in the room. Processed via colab with 1000 epochs. Includes metadata I find most captures sound like they're too low-mid focused because people are afraid to crank their amps. This has been my main amp for almost 10 years and I know it well. On both the Blue and Red channels, the amp tends to get spongy and loose once you start cranking the volume past 7, so if you dial it back to 6, it stays tight and focused while engaging the power amp enough to add in power tube clipping, giving the amp a really good "chunk" when palm muting. The Blue channel settings are dialed for a blistering and thick rhythm tone, though it can easily pass as a lead tone given how saturated it is. With the mids at 5 and the highs at 6, the amp doesn't have the darkness that you hear in a lot of tones dialed with this amp. Don't let the weak guitar signal here on Tone3000 fool you into thinking there's not enough oomph on this capture. Download it for yourself to try it out and you'll see that there's plenty of gain in this patch. However, it still pairs extremely well with either an Airis Effects Savage Drive to tighten things up even more and push the front end even more. A Prince of Tone or Duke of Tone overdrive also goes well with this patch. Everyone knows the Red channel on any variant of these amps tends to get very hairy very quickly and can lead to over-saturation of the gain stages. So being just a little bit conservative with the gain knob is key to keeping things under control. The Red patch is an in-your-face high gain tone that I use for leads. Again, volume cranked just enough to get the power section engaged getting that good "chunk" from the power tubes. I use this as a lead tone in most of the songs I play in drop C. Be careful when using a boost on this channel as it can still easily get very hairy. For this reason, I don't run an OD when running the red channel or this patch. With the Resonance at 1, the amp doesn't have a loose and boomy bottom end and again, it doesn't have the darkness to the sound. Having the Presence at 6 keeps the amp bright. Pair these tones with your favourite cab IR and enjoy.

Really nice capture my man...Very loud and realistic. You dialed it in nicely, well done.
