Description

A pack of 15 captures at various gain stages and tone levels. This pedal has a 12AXU tube in it and 4 control knobs volume, drive, tone and master. I found that it works best in front of an amp on the clean channel rather than going to the fx loop return like you would a preamp pedal. The tone is very bassy and dark, thick saturation which I could not EQ out. After a while playing about I discovered that you need an overdrive pedal in front of this. The Boss SD-1 would be my suggestion or something akin to that. A treble boost pedal also works quite well. There are a few Hiwatt amp captures on Tonehunt and the clean channel ones are what I use so you would be wise to download them if you have not done so. You can get Hiwatt impulse responses from the likes of York Audio for a good price to get the full Hiwatt experience. The names of each individual capture contain the settings of the pedal. I would recommend experimenting with the normalize on or off and maybe tweak the NAM EQ and input/output levels. This will vary dependent upon your own set up. Information:- Reamp Box: Joyo JDI-48 Interface: Universal Audio Volt 2 DAW: Reaper Models: Feather Epochs: 200 There is not a lot of information on the internet about this pedal but there others in the Tube series, notably an overdrive, high gain, phaser and tremolo. I think they were made in England sometime in the 2000s and they might be an investment if you find one as they seem kind of rare and Hiwatt gear is not easy to come by.
