Description

It's an old TS10 MADE IN TAIWAN Ibanez TS10 Tube Screamer pedals made in Taiwan (MIT) were manufactured roughly between 1990 and 1993, shifting production there after the original Japanese (MIJ) run ended in the late 1980s. In terms of tone and quality, the Taiwanese version is virtually the same or only subtly different, though purists often prefer the Japanese model. Japanese vs. Taiwanese TS10 • The Chip Factor: Early Taiwanese TS10s still used the coveted JRC4558D op-amp chip just like the Japanese versions, though later MIT units occasionally swapped to an MC4558 chip. • Build and Components: Circuit board layouts and component values are largely identical, meaning the core "Tube Screamer" mid-push sound is present in both. • Consistency: Both Japanese and Taiwanese units suffer from vintage component drift and minor factory inconsistencies (some units have slightly more or less gain), making individual pedal condition more important than the country of origin. I made five versions of it for most case scenarios.
