The 6402 is the last of the truly great Greenback cones, and at 8 ohms rather than the traditional 16, it trades a little aggressiveness for smoothness in the upper mids. The 8-ohm version is what you find in a 2x12 AC30, not in a Marshall 4x12 — so we tracked down a clean set and built this cab around them. If you have ever wondered why a Mesa™ 4x12 sounds different from most other V30-loaded cabs, part of the answer is speaker impedance: Mesa uses 8-ohm V30s where most cab makers use 16-ohm, and a tube amp driving an 8-ohm load runs on a different output transformer tap, which changes the tone and takes some of the aggressive edge off in favor of a smoother cut.  This pack puts that same 8-ohm behavior behind Greenbacks in a straight basketweave cab — a combination you won’t find in another Marshall 4x12! Each single-mic IR includes 3 variations: Unaltered Mic, Enhanced, and Top Boost, giving you raw and studio-refined tonal options for the ultimate IR experience.
