Mesa Badlander 50 - Clean Channel

The Mesa Boogie Badlander 50 Combo’s Clean Channel sounds is a British-voiced channel. It can go from squeeky clean to mid-60s Marshall-like crunch. The Clean Channel is an interesting contrast to the Crunch and Crush channels that are more suited to heavier rock and metal. While hooked up to a Suhr Reactive Load, I tried to loosely emulate captures of different amps (my AC15, Super Reverb, Fender Blues DeVille, Plexi circuit clone). I don’t have a JTM45, so I referenced some of Slamminmofo’s captures. An upper mid boost would be needed to take the sound closer to cranked Super Lead territory. The amp was trained with the following loads: -Badlander 1x12 with stock G12M65 Creamback (M65 Suffix) -Marshall 1960TV 4x12 with UK Greenbacks (TV Suffix) -Suhr Reactive Load (SRL Suffix) The M65 load captures are lighter in bass and meant to pair with smaller, open back cabs/IRs. The TV and SRL captures have a larger low end and are more suited for emulating Marshall tones with larger closed back cabs/IRs. Since I tried to imitate numerous amps, a wide variety of Fender, Vox, and Marshall cab IRs should be usable. Full Rig Signal Chain: RME UCX II Line Out – United Studio Technology Replay Box at 11.5dBu - Mesa Badlander 50 - Respective Load for Capture - Suhr Reactive Load Output - RME UCX II Line In at 11.7dBu The Suhr Reactive Load was used to take a tap of the Full Rig signal chain to make the Amp Head Captures. Input/output calibration metadata for 11.5dBu send/11.7dBu return was filled in during TONE3000 training.
