Arlington Audio - Neural Amp Modeler pack ------------------------------------------ Mesa Boogie Studio Preamp KEY: B0/1 - Bright Off/On F0/1 - Fat Off/On Perhaps the strangest amp in my collection, the Studio Preamp is one of the most confusing and infuriating beasts to dial in until you get used to how it works. Then it becomes an incredible monster that sounds immense on its own. Thing is, it's designed to be used in a studio environment and that's how it was treated with this pack. Without a preamp of its own, I decided to pair it up with something awesome, the Zakk Wylde signature edition JCM800 running into the return of the FX loop. Though it sounded pretty good at this point, I figured that it was worth taking it a little further and plugging the output of the Suhr into the Avalon VT737 preamp. Typically I'd use a 1073 type pre but seeing as the power section of the Studio Pre is open ended, I felt it appropriate to sculpt my own "Dream Poweramp" to pair with it by way of a few EQ touches done in hardware. This adds up to a capture library that likely won't need any boosting unless you're utterly mad. Special thanks to Jesco for the new saner naming scheme. Technical details: Captures: 112 @ 1000 Epochs per capture. Peak: ~3.5db (average) Load Box: Suhr Reactive Load Interface: RME Fireface UFXII Preamp 2: Avalon 737 Reamp Box: Radial Pro RMP (Level modified) Referenced with Event Opal monitors, Sonarworks and Jens Bogren impulse responses (not included) Amp Settings: Rhythm: Master Volume: 4.8 - Master: 3.2 - Treble: 6.1 - Bass: 2.9 - Mid: 4.9 EQ Settings: 80: ML - 240: 1mm Under ML - 750: Clear under ML - 2200: ML - 6600: Clear above ML Lead: Master Volume: 5.8 - Volume: 3.2 - Master: 3.9 - Treble: 10 - Bass:5 - Mid: 2 - Lead Master: 3 EQ Settings: 80: Clear above ML - 240: half under ML - 750: 1.5mm under ML - 2200: Clear under ML - 6600: Resting on ML Avalon EQ Settings: Bass: 150hz +1.9 - High Mid: 550hz -1.8 - Treble: 15k +0.5 Stuff people have requested: -10dBFS sine tone at 400Hz from DAW -> AC RMS reading of **2.15v** at the 1/4" plug after reamp box. 10^(-10/20) = 0.3162 **2.15**/0.3162 = 6.799 20log(6.799/0.775) = **18.86 dBu** If your interface has 12dBu instrument inputs: 18.86-12 = 6.86, you have to LOWER the input in NAM Plugin to -6.86 dB for the capture to sound correct.
