The Nobels ODR-1X is an analog overdrive pedal engineered to deliver low-to-medium gain saturation while preserving the fundamental equalization of the instrument and amplifier. It builds upon the classic ODR-1 circuit architecture, recognized for its flat frequency response that avoids the pronounced mid-range peak characteristic of many traditional overdrive pedals. Core Controls and Equalization Drive: Regulates the amount of diode clipping and overall saturation. Level: Controls the overall output volume, offering sufficient gain to act as a clean or semi-dirty boost when the Drive is dialed back. Spectrum: Functions as a dual-band equalizer rather than a standard high-frequency roll-off filter. Rotating the knob clockwise concurrently boosts the high-mid/treble frequencies and lower-mid frequencies. Rotating it counter-clockwise attenuates both bands. This specialized EQ curve maintains the structural character of the guitar tone across the entire sweep. Technical Architecture and Features Bass Cut Switch: Addresses the inherent low-end thickness of the original ODR-1 circuit. Engaging this filter attenuates sub-bass frequencies, tightening the low-end response to prevent muddiness, which is particularly useful when pairing the pedal with humbucker-equipped guitars or dark-sounding amplifiers. Variable Voltage Operation: Supports power inputs from standard 9V DC up to 18V DC.
