Description

Arlington Audio - Neural Amp Modeler pack ------------------------------------------ Peavey 6505 (2004 build, USA made) Since 1992, these guys have almost single handedly paved the way for modern heavy tones. This particular amp was made in 2004 and is one of the earliest rebranded models. Originally designed for EVH, The Peavey 5150/6505 series offers an intense amount of gain and still sees consistent popularity amongst players. It was a part of revolutionary tones such as Machine Head's "Burn My Eyes" and In Flames's "Clayman" as well as a slew of others. Though it's a 2.5 channel amp, I've represented it here in 3 channels: Clean, Crunch and Red. We all know what Red does, though Crunch is more than capable of incredible rhythm tones. The channel that everyone avoids is the Clean channel and I get it. Because of that, a little extra care was taken to get it to sound as good as possible with a tiny amount of extra eq courtesy of the Avalon 737 preamp. I haven't changed the sound of the clean channel, I just cleaned it up a little to allow what it does well to shine and it's surprisingly good. In addition, each channel has two modes, normal and high gain. Both Green channels have versions with and without the bright switch engaged. This capture set was taken to ensure a great operation across a range of guitars, boost pedals and impulse responses. You can use a vst boost like the TSE808 or even a real pedal and either will give you the 90s/00s boosted 5150 sound. Amp: Peavey 6505 Channels: Clean, Crunch, Red Mode: NormalNormal Gain, High Gain, Bright (Green channels only) Peak: ~3.5db (average) Load Box: Suhr Reactive Load Interface: RME Fireface UFXII Preamp: Golden Age Pre73 (Crunch and Red) Preamp: Avalon 737 (Clean) Reamp Box: Radial Pro RMP (Level modified) Referenced with Event Opal monitors, Sonarworks and Jens Bogren impulse responses (not included) Stuff people have requested: -10dBFS sine tone at 400Hz from DAW -> AC RMS reading of **2.15v** at the 1/4" plug after reamp box. 10^(-10/20) = 0.3162 **2.15**/0.3162 = 6.799 20log(6.799/0.775) = **18.86 dBu** If your interface has 12dBu instrument inputs: 18.86-12 = 6.86, you have to LOWER the input in NAM Plugin to -6.86 dB for the capture to sound correct.
