Description

The X-Modded amp isn't a standalone hardware amplifier; rather, it is a highly acclaimed, built-in digital amplifier model featured in the Boss SY-1000 Guitar Synthesizer (as well as other flagship Boss processors like the GT-1000 and GX-100). The X-Modded amp is part of Boss’s custom "X-series" digital amp collection. Instead of trying to strictly clone a single vintage tube amplifier, Boss engineers utilized their proprietary MDP (Multi-Dimensional Processing) and AIRD (Augmented Impulse Response Dynamics) technology to build an idealized, modern high-gain amplifier from scratch. The Tone Profile: It follows the long-standing rock tradition of a "hot-rodded" or modified high-gain tube amp. It picks up right where standard high-gain channels leave off, offering more harmonic saturation, a massive punch ("kick"), and extra sustain. Intelligent Gain Control: Traditional analog amps can get muddy, fizzy, or lose dynamic responsiveness when you crank the gain to extreme levels. Because the X-Modded amp uses MDP, the processor analyzes your input signal in real-time across multiple frequencies. This preserves incredible string-to-string definition and clarity even under heavy, saturated distortion. "Amps Only" Mode: Many guitarists use the SY-1000 strictly as a high-end multi-effects and amp modeler, bypassing the synth engines entirely. Creators like Dr Prophecy Studio have popularized presets (such as the "Deanger" patches available on the Boss Tone Exchange) that use the X-Modded amp paired with delays and harmonies for crushing lead tones. We hope you like using them on NAM. Please leave a comment and let us know if you'd like more of these.
