Driftwood 4x12 Impulse Response Pack
A versatile collection of impulse responses captured from a Driftwood 4x12 guitar cabinet, built to cover everything from thick hard rock and classic high-gain tones to tight, aggressive modern metal.
The cabinet was captured with several different speaker types and an extensive selection of industry-standard microphones, giving you a wide range of tonal options—from focused and cutting to dark, thick, smooth, and massive.
Speakers Captured
Celestion Vintage 30 – V30
The classic modern high-gain speaker. Strong upper-mid presence, tight low end, and excellent note definition. Multiple microphone positions and combinations provide everything from aggressive bite to smoother, fuller V30 tones.
Celestion G12 V60 – Special Edition
A slightly different take on the familiar Celestion high-gain character, offering a balanced midrange, controlled top end, and powerful low-mid response.
Celestion Creamback
Warmer, thicker, and smoother than the V30. Excellent for hard rock, classic metal, leads, and situations where you want additional body without excessive high-frequency aggression.
Eminence Karnivor
Aggressive, tight, and authoritative with excellent low-end control. A great choice for modern metal, extended-range guitars, drop tunings, and highly percussive rhythm tones.
Microphones
The cabinet was captured using a broad selection of dynamic, ribbon, condenser, and room microphones:
Shure SM57

Austrian Audio OC18
Heil PR30
Audio-Technica AT250DE
Mono FET47 room microphone
The different speaker and microphone combinations allow the pack to cover a wide spectrum of guitar tones.
For tight modern metal:
Start with the V30 or Karnivor paired with an SM57, MD421, M201, or PR30.
For a thicker high-gain sound:
Try the V30 or Creamback with the Royer R-121, M160, or U47 FET.
For hard rock and classic metal:
The Creamback and V60 options provide more warmth and a slightly more relaxed upper-mid character
For natural depth and cabinet ambience:
Use the FET47 and Aston room captures alone or blend them underneath a close-mic IR.
The result is a highly flexible Driftwood 4x12 IR collection capable of handling tight modern rhythm guitars, huge layered metal tones, hard rock, classic metal, leads, and lower-gain sounds.
