Description

ENGL Ritchie Blackmore Signature 100 – NAM Capture A tight, aggressive NAM capture inspired by the ENGL Ritchie Blackmore Signature 100, dialed for heavy rhythm work with plenty of attack, clarity, and upper-mid bite. This amp has a different character than the typical 5150-style high-gain tone. The low end stays controlled and punchy, while the midrange has a sharp, articulate edge that helps riffs cut through dense mixes. Palm mutes hit hard without getting overly loose, and fast picking stays defined even with lower tunings. Capture Process The amplifier was carefully gain-staged before capture, with input and return levels set to preserve the feel and response of the original amp. Multiple test passes were made and compared against the source tone to match the amp’s: Pick attack and transient response Low-end punch and tightness Midrange character Gain structure and saturation Dynamic response to different picking strengths The final model was trained as a head-only NAM capture, meaning no speaker cabinet or microphone coloration is baked into the file. This gives you the flexibility to pair it with your preferred IRs and shape the final tone for your own mix. Tone: Tight • Aggressive • Clear • Punchy Gain: High Gain Best For: Groove Metal • Death Metal • Thrash • Modern Metal • Hardcore Format: Neural Amp Modeler .nam Capture Type: Amp Head Only / No Cabinet Recommended IR Pairing For a modern metal sound, try it with a Mesa-style 4×12 with V30-type speakers for a thick, aggressive low-mid response, or a Marshall-style 4×12 if you want more upper-mid cut and bite. A great starting point is a 70–80 Hz low cut and 9–10 kHz high cut, then adjust from there to fit your guitar and mix.
