Fender Deluxe Reverb 67 All Straight

This is a capture of a Deluxe Reverb that remains in highly original condition. This particular amp is close to an all-original example, with its internal components preserved from the original era. Many vintage Deluxe Reverbs have changed over time due to repairs or replacement parts, but this unit still retains much of its original sound character. Externally, it is a so-called “Drip Edge” model with aluminum trim around the grille cloth. Internally, however, it uses the AB763 circuit, which is the same circuit associated with the black panel era. Because of that, the core tone is very much in the classic blackface Deluxe Reverb family. To my ears, amps from this period can feel slightly stiffer in the cabinet compared to earlier black panel models, giving this one a somewhat tighter response. It still has the sparkling clean tone, natural compression, and three-dimensional Fender character you would expect, but with a slightly more focused low end. A great capture for clean tones, edge-of-breakup sounds, and pedal platform use.
