This capture pack is a sample of the GOSH Homewrecker, captured at Black Bear Studios in Gainesville, Florida. We captured the Homewrecker at two different points in its range to showcase how the amplifier responds as it moves from clean to full saturation: Overdriven — Pushed into natural breakup, with added harmonic content, compression, and sustain while still retaining the dynamics and character of the amplifier. LO 6 | MID 8 | HI 8 | MASTER 8 | GAIN 8 Cranked — The Homewrecker opened up and pushed hard. More saturation, compression, harmonics, and sustain, capturing the amplifier at its most aggressive and expressive. LO 11 | MID 11 | HI 11 | MASTER 11 | GAIN 11 The Capture As with all of our captures, our goal was to reproduce the response and character of the physical amplifier as accurately as possible. We measured the amplifier's input impedance to ensure proper input loading and an accurate transfer. We also performed extensive listening and comparison tests using a load box while referencing the sound of the actual amplifier through a mic'd cabinet. Our reference setup was a M-style cabinet loaded with a Celestion Greenback and captured with an SM57. We used the mic'd cabinet as our real-world reference, comparing it against the captured profiles and refining the setup until the response and character matched as closely as possible. The goal wasn't simply to capture the Homewrecker at a couple gain levels and preserve the feel, dynamics, and personality of the amplifier as you push it harder.
